I am a Social Entrepreneur, A Citizen Scientist, and a Change Maker; A Fearless and Passionate Explorer of Materials working to Alter Environments and Evoke Transformation.

One studio is a Makerspace for Microbiology inspired Interactive Art, the other a light flooded room for large figurative oil paintings.

I merge science, technology, and art, incorporating Maine surroundings into the layers of my work. Evolving over four years of mixed media exploration, Petri Dish Series considers micro-biotic elements of land, sea, flora, and human cells. The Bio luminescent Ocean series interacts with florescent compounds altering textures and compositions of the surface with shifting light.

Summer 2018 Erin was immersed in South America’s Amazon, learning about natural pigments from local artists in Ecuador.

Nationally recognized, McGee Ferrell’s paintings are collected by Private and Commercial institutions, including TD Ameritrade, AtlantiCare New Jersey, Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, INC. Philadelphia, The Episcopal Diocese of Boston, the CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, professional hockey player Kimmo Timonen, and America’s Cup Winner- Robert James Gale. Erin McGee Ferrell serves on the National Board of The Episcopal Church and the Visual Arts. Her work has been highlighted at the Arnot Museum, NY and The Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art, WI.
