My hands are my craft, ok it’s a little more complicated than that - but you get the gist of what I’m saying. This phase of treatment. Allergic reactions happen, and therapy can stop. Nurses are very vigilant in making sure patients are not having an initial response to the TAXOL. It could be as simple as a sore throat which could be an indication of infection or chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). And may affect a person's quality of life of hands and feet. When my nurse asked came by to check-, is your throat sore,? I was so scared, that my answer was well no, But since you are mentioning it…. Maybe…. My treatment nurse got me through and talked me down - a good woman!

Head, Shoulders, Hands And Toes—Hand and toes.

Have that song in your head? It’s been in my head a couple of days now. Looking back with a friend, we had a good laugh on the phone. It was FUNNY to talk about the heartfelt thoughts that can drive you to distraction.

There are still two treatments to go - SCARY

Yew Tree

Discovered in 1961 and approved for clinical trials in 1993, Taxol belongs to a class of chemotherapy drugs called plant alkaloids. The Yew Tree from Canada and the Pacific Northwest is just one of the plants used in this treatment. There are several other plant alkaloids used. In the 90’s it took 60 pounds of bark to produce a single 3-week continuous treatment. The FDA, EPA, United States Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management all agreed to cultivate YEW Trees within the Pacific Northwest to make TAXOL a cancer-fighting treatment.
